Abstract

Objective:The optimal conditions of total flavonoids from Isodon excisoides were investigated by orthogonal array design.Methods:The content of total flavonoids was determined spectrometrically using rutin as the reference substance.The effects of extraction temperature,extraction time,liquid/material ratio,ethanol concentration on the content of total flavonoids in extracts were investigated by one-factor-at-a-time method,and the extraction conditions were optimized by orthogonal array design.Results:Ethanol concentration and liquid/material ratio were the key factors that affected the extraction of total flavonoids.The optimal extractive conditions were obtained as follows:temperature 90 ℃,treatment time 120 min,liquid/material ratio 50∶1 and ethanol concentration 50%.Under these conditions,the extraction yield of total flavonoids from I.excisoides was 5.668 6%.Conclusion:The optimized process remarkably increases the extraction yield of total flavonoids from I.excisoides and has a promising prospect for practical applications.
