Effect of Y3+ doping content on the properties of BaTiO3 based thermosensitive ceramics

Abstract
BaTiO3 based thermosensitive ceramics with different Y3+ doping content were prepared via traditional solid-phase method.The microstructure and morphology of the thermosensitive ceramics were characterized by XRD and SEM.The effects of Y3+ doping content on the room temperature resistivity, Curie temperature andRmax/Rmin were investigated.The results indicated that the room temperature resistivity of BaTiO3 based thermosensitive ceramics decreased firstly and then increased with Y3+ doping content increasing, while Rmax/Rmin showed the opposite tendency.The SEM images showed that the ceramic grain size also decreased with the increasing of Y3+ doping content, but the boundaries of too small grain were blurred and weakened the PTC performance in the process of sintering.When the mole content of Y3+ doping were 0.5% to 0.7%, the prepared BaTiO3 based thermosensitive ceramics exhibited best properties with the lowest room temperature resistivity of 14.9 Ω and Rmax/Rmin of 3.96×104.关键词
