Structure Analysis and Optimum Design on Explosive Chamber of Explosive Piston Type High-speed Interrupter in Hybrid Current-limiting Fuse

Abstract
The structure of explosive chamber is critical for the dynamic and electrical performances in hybrid current-limiting fuse,improper structure will result in degradation of breaking capacity or even breaking failure due to the decreased kinetic energy of active parts.To solve this problem,we established a nonlinear dynamic model based on the platform of LS-DYNA,and obtained propagation rules of shock wave inside the explosive chamber.Moreover,we analyzed the influences of distance between explosive and piston,radius of piston head and explosive chamber on breaking capacity,respectively,revealing that there were optimum values for these parameters.A 900 W1 000 A prototype was developed for interrupting characteristics and short-circuit breaking experiments.The results are in good agreement with the simulation results,the short current is limited to 22.7 kA under the 40 kA prospective current with 12 A/μs rise rate,and the opening time is 84 μs,which indicate that the results can be used in optimization design of explosive piston type high-speed interrupter.关键词
