The clinical results of dental implant: a retrospective study of 15 years

Abstract
Objective To summarize and evaluate the clinical results of osseointegration implant treatment of the past 15 years.Methods A retrospective analysis was performed on 2302 patients with 4536 dental implants from Jan 2001 to Dec 2015 in the Center of Prosthodontics and Oral Implantology,Foshan Hospital of Stomatology.Among them,1395 were ITI implants,1234 were Ankylos implants,165 were Bicon implants,612 were Nobel implants,122 were Camlog implants,765 were BLB implants,176 were Xive implants,and 67 were Frialit-Ⅱ implants.The median follow-up time was 48 months (3 to 180 months).Clinical and imaging examinations were conducted,and evaluated with Wheeler's survival criteria.Results A total of 2302 patients,with 4536 implants,were enrolled for screening,among whom 1660 had finished follow-up and 642 lost follow-up (27.89％),with 1405 implants lost follow-up (30.97％).Peri-implantitis was observed in 152 implants of 112 cases.Prostheses loose was observed in 35 cases and fracture in 6 cases.Ceramic crack was observed in 62 cases.The documented implants lost were 56.The implant survival rate was 96.00％ according to Wheeler's survival criteria.The questionnaire shows that satisfaction rate was 95.36％.Conclusion The implant survival rate is satisfied.Implant prostheses are with high satisfaction rate and excellent clinical efficacy with good long term prognosis.The major reason inducing implant failure is peri-implantitis.关键词
