Capacity calculation model for signalized intersections underimpact of on-line bus stop

Abstract
In order to improve the estimation accuracy of the capacity at signalized intersections, this paper analyzed the impact of the near-side on-line bus stop on the capacity based on the calculation framework in HCM2010.Using the traffic flow theory, it analyzed the green loss time caused by one bus stopping under different arrival time conditions.On this basis, it established the capacity calculation model by the probability theory under three conditions of the lane assignment on the bus loa-ding lane, including the shared through and right-turn lane, exclusive right-turn lane, and shared bus and right-turn lane.It conducted the sensitivity analysis of key factors.The results show that both the distance between the bus stop and intersection stop line and the arrival rate of the bus loading lane affect the signalized intersection capacity greatly.In practice, the distance between the bus stop and intersection stop line should be long enough to accommodate the queue length of the vehicles arrived during red time.关键词
