Design and Effects of Clinical Practice Pattern for Patient Observation for Nursing Undergraduates

Abstract
Objective To explore of the design of clinical practice pattern for the course of patient observation and its effects. Methods Based on the objective and features of the course, we designed clinical practice pattern for the course of patient observation. Students were assigned to 4 representative departments and completed clinical practice including inquiry, checking and discussion. A questionnaire of nursing clinical practice was used to investigate the effects of clinical practice and Pearson correlation analysis for data analysis. Results Nursing students were satisfied with the clinical practice pattern. The overall score of students ' evaluation on clinical practice was 4.38 ±0.43 and the score of the dimension of teacher was 4.45 ±0.06, that of the dimension of students 4.27±0.69, that of the dimension of organization 4.42±0.05 and that of effects was 4.54±0.56. The effects of clinical practice were positively related to the dimension of teacher, organization and students (r=0.671,0.549,0.802,P<0.01). Conclusion The designed clinical practice pattern for the course of Patient Observation is effective and it provides reference for the related courses.关键词
