Abstract

The methods of dynamic analysis on high core rock-fill dam and its developments are firstly summarized and then the characteristics of different methods and its development direction are presented.The research status on seismic response of high core rock-fill dam shows that the research content should include acceleration response,residual deformation,core dynamic strength and dam slope stability.In view of the results of literature research,the damage pattern of super-high core rock-fill dam has been illustrated.It show that the dam slope initially occurs rolling stone,and at the same time,the deformation and crack grow in dam body the accunulated sliding deformation of dam slope is gradually increased and then dam slope collapse occurs,and meanwhile the dynamic strength deficiency of core and filter layer is being expanded,so the overall stability of dam slope is further weakened or collapse.The comprehensive evaluation on ultimate seismic capacity of residual deformation,core shear strength and dam slope stability shows that the 300 m-level super-high core rockfill dam in China can withstand the dynamic load with peak ground motion acceleration of 0.45g-0.60g.
