Regulation effect of plastic film mulching during fallow period on soil water, root characteristics and yield of dry-land wheat

摘要

Abstract

[Objective]For the problem of less rainfall and uneven distribution, lower and unstable yield of dry-land wheat in the loess plateau, the best technology way of coverage water of mulching of dry land wheat was explored.[Methods]The field experiment was conducted at Wenxi County, Shanxi Province, under the conditions of full mulching (FM), ridge half mulching (MR), no mulching (NM), to study the effects of different mulching modes on soil water and root characteristics and yield.[Result]After plastic film mulching during fallow period, the soil water storage in 0~1 m soil layer at sowing stage significantly was improved, 28~42 mm, and the effect of water retention could be extend to the booting stage. After plastic film mulching during fallow period, root length, surf area, volume, and tips in the depth of 0~80 cm at different growth stage were significantly improved, especially the layer was 0~20 cm, and FM was more than RM. After plastic film mulching during fallow period, root activity from wintering stage to booting stage, after 25~35 d of anthesis were significantly improved. Finally, After plastic film mulching during fallow period, ear number and yield were improved by 10%~17% and 29%~30%.[Conclusion]Plastic film mulching during fallow period was conducive to store precipitation into the soilresult ing in the increase of soil water storage before sowing, could promote the growth of the root and increase root activity at the early and middle period, and improve ear number and yield.
