Abstract

A direct torque control (DTC) was proposed for five-leg voltage-source-inverter (VSI) dual-motor drive systems,in which two permanent-magnet synchronous machines (PMSMs) were controlled by one five-leg VSI.All phase-switching-states were directly determined by the standard three-phase DTC,among which four phase-switching-states could be directly treated as four corresponding leg-switching-states.Then,the switching state of the common leg was determined by comparing two weighting functions.Additionally,the performance distortion of the studied drive system caused by the five-leg VSI was theoretically analyzed.The effectiveness of the proposed DTC is verified by experimental results.
