Expression and significance of stathmin and Ki-67 in endometrioid adenocarcinoma

Abstract
Objective: To investigate the expression of Stathmin and Ki-67 in endometrioid adenocarcinoma and its significance.Methods: Immunohistochemical staining for Stathmin and Ki-67 was performed in 99 cases of endometrioid adenocarcinoma and 67 cases of normal endometrium.Results: The expression rates of Stathmin and Ki-67 in endometrioid adenocarcinoma were 75.8% and 70.7%, respectively. The high expression rates of Stathmin and Ki-67 in normal endometrioma were 9.0% and 4.5%, respectively. The difference between endometrioid adenocarcinoma and normal endometrioma was signiflcant (P<0.05). The expression of Stathmin and Ki-67 in endometrioid adenocarcinoma was related with its histology grading (P<0.05), but was not related with patients' age, clinical stage, invasion depth, lymph node metastasis and vascular invasion (P>0.05). The expression of Stathmin and Ki-67 were significantly positively correlated (r=0.672,P<0.05).Conclusion: The occurrence and differentiation of endometrial adenocarcinoma may be ralated with the high expressions of Stathmin and Ki-67. The expression of Stathmin and Ki-67 were significantly positively correlated indicated that the high expression of Stathmin may be associated with higher proliferation of the endometrial adenocarcinoma.关键词
