摘要
Abstract
The prevalence of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is increasing worldwide. T2DM is associated with both microvascular and macrovascular complications. The present narrative review focuses on the role of statins in treating T2DM dyslipidemia, summarizing also their beneficial effects on diabetic complications and other cardiovascular disease risk factors including renal and endothelial dysfunction, inflammation, oxidative stress. Overall, statin treatment is beneficial, especially associated with cardiovascular risk factors in patients with diabetes.关键词
