Hygrothermal Aging Effects on Mechanical Properties of PBO/T700 Hybrid Composites

Abstract
The hygrothermal aging effects on static and dynamic mechanical properties of PBO/T700 hybrid composites were studied in this paper by universal testing machine and dynamic mechanical analysis respectively.The results indicated that the tensile strength and modulus,flexural strength and modulus of PBO/T700 hybrid composites experience little change after hygrothermal aging.While the compressive strength and interlaminar shear strength of the hybrid composites declined with maximum drop of 14.4% and 9.5% respectively.The heat-resistance property of PBO/T700 hybrid composites increased to some extent after hygrothermal aging.The glass transition temperature(Tg) of the composites upgrade from 127.6℃ to 136.3℃ after hygrothermal aging for 30 days.However,the Tg of the composites degraded,the E′ and E″ shift toward low temperature with aging time increasing,which means a decline of heat-resistance property of the composites.关键词
