Abstract
Objective:To revise the Job Insecurity Scale among medical college teachers and assess its reliability and validity.Methods:The Job Insecurity Scale was applied to measure the job insecurity of medical college teachers in China,and the reliability and validity of the Job Insecurity Scale were assessed by item analysis,exploratory factor a-nalysis and confirmatory factor analysis.Results:Item 11,15,22 were deleted by item analysis and exploratory factor analysis.The revised Job Insecurity Scale contained 5 factors,insecurity of job loss,insecurity of job execution,inse-curity of payment and promotion,insecurity of excessive competition,insecurity of interpersonal relationship,and the scale consisted of 27 items.The correlation coefficients between items and the total score were above 0.3,and the fac-tor loadings were over 0.5.The accumulating explanatory rate of the 5 factors was 75.59%.The construct validity and criterion validity of the scale met the psychometrics requirements.Cronbach's α coefficient of the scale was 0.949. Cronbach's αcoefficient of insecurity of job loss,insecurity of payment and promotion,insecurity of excessive compe-tition,insecurity of interpersonal relationship,insecurity of job execution was 0.966,0.918,0.847,0.888 and 0.730, respectively.The composite reliability of insecurity of job loss,insecurity of payment and promotion,insecurity of ex-cessive competition,insecurity of interpersonal relationship,insecurity of job execution was 0.967,0.891,0.856, 0.919,and 0.749,respectively.Conclusion:The revised Job Insecurity Scale is a reliable tool to assess the job insecuri-ty level of medical college teachers.关键词
