摘要
Abstract
Objective: To study the influence of postoperative radiotherapy on thyroid function in patients with oral can-cer. Methods: 34 patients with oral cancer post-operative radiotherapy in our department from April 2015 to April 2016 were retrospectively reviewed. Complete blood picture (CBP), serum levels of TSH, T4, T3, FT4, and FT3 were investigated before radiotherapy, at the end of radiotherapy, six months post radiotherapy, one year post radiotherapy respectively. Results:Serum level of T3, T4, FT3, FT4 hormones decreased significantly at the end of radiotherapy, six months of post-operative radiotherapy, one year of postoperative radiotherapy as compared to those before radiotherapy (P<0.05). After ra-diation therapy, serum T3, T4, FT3, FT4 levels decreased in a time-dependent manner, with no significant difference (P>0.05). TSH variation was not significant (P>0.05). Conclusion:Postoperative radiotherapy in patients with oral cancer may lead to hypothyroidism. Thyroid function should be taken as one of the items for postoperative follow-up.关键词
