Abstract

Graft modification of polyester fiber fabric with β-cyclodextrin was initiated with pad-dry-cure process, to discuss the technological conditions for improving the hydrophilic property of polyester fiber fabric with 1,2,3,4-butane tetra carboxylic acid as cross linking agent and sodium hypophosphite as catalyst.Research shows that the optimum conditions for processing polyester fiber fabric with β-cyclodextrin are: mass concentration of β-cyclodextrin: 100 g/L, and molar ratio of β-cyclodextrin to butane tetra carboxylic acid: 1︰3;the optimum cure conditions are: drying at low temperature for 6 minutes, and drying at high temperature for 3 minutes.The test result of moisture regain suggests that the moisture regain of modified polymer fiber fabric gradually rises with the increase of grafting ratio, and can reach up to 2.18% as the grafting ratio reaches the maximum (16.11%).The weight-loss ratio of polymer fiber fabric remains within 2% after washing 30 times, indicating that it is of good grafting fastness.
