Abstract
Objective To evaluate the role of serum tTG-IgA in the diagnosis of celiac disease in patients with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) diagnosed by ROME III. Methods Serum levels of tTG-IgA were detect?ed by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Endoscopic examination and duodenal biopsy were per?formed in the antibody-positive patients. Pathological type was conducted using Marsh scoring system. Results The serum levels of tTG-IgA were positive in 5 cases among the 136 patients with irritable bowel syn?drome. Pathological examination showed Marsh 3b in 3 cases suspected celiac disease, which was the typical pathologic feature of celiac disease. Conclusion The detection rate of serum tTG-IgA is higher in patients with celiac disease. The tTG-IgA detection, combined with endoscopic examination and small intestine pathologi?cal type, can contribute to clinical diagnosis of celiac disease.关键词
