Expressions of proinflammatory cytokines in peripheral blood monocytes of patients with diabetic nephropathy before and after 1,25-dihydrovitamin D3 intervention

Abstract
Objective To investigate the expressions of proinflammatory cytokines in the peripheral blood monocytes of patients with diabetic nephropathy before and after 1,25-dihydrovitamin D3(VD3) intervention.Methods Fifteen patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with diabetic nephropathy(DN group) and 15 healthy controls(control group) were enrolled.The levels of interleukin(IL)-17A,interferon(IFN)-γ,tumor necrosis factor(TNF) and IL-2 in culture supernatant containing peripheral blood monocytes were detected,respectively,in the two groups with and without VD3 intervention.Results Before VD3 intervention,there was no significant difference in the level of IL-17A between the two groups(P>0.05),the levels of IFN-γ,TNF and IL-2 in the DN group were higher than those in the control group(P<0.05).After VD3 intervention,the levels of IL-17A,IFN-γ,TNF and IL-2 in the two groups were all lower than those before intervention,and the levels of IL-17A,IFN-γ and IL-2 in the DN group were higher than those in the control group,but the TNF level was lower than that in the control group(all P<0.05).Conclusion The relevant proinflammatory cytokines might play an acceleration role in the occurrence of DN,and VD3 has an inhibition effect on proinflammatory cytokines in the peripheral blood moncytes of DN patients.关键词
