Clinical observation on the treatment of bronchial asthma in the stage of the attack by the holistic acupuncture and medicine therapy

Abstract
[Objective] To observe the clincal effect of the holistic acupuncture and medicine therapy on treating the bronchial asthma (BA) in the stage of the attack. [Methods] The 60 cases of syndrome differentiation for cold asthma attack period of BA patients were randomly divided as control group (30 cases) conventional Western medicine treatment, treatment group (30 cases) treated with oral administration of Shegan Mahuang decoction modified on the basis of routine treatment of Western medicine, topical acupuncture and acupoint post treatment. Two groups were treated for one week. The clinical curative effect, pulmonary function and the changes of IL-5, IL-10 and ECP in the patients after treatment were observed. [Results] After treatment, total effective rate of the control group was 73.33%, and treatment group the total efficiency was 93.33%. The difference between two groups had statistical significance (P<0.05). Treatment group on lung function was better than the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, treatment group, IL-5 and eosinophils and ECP levels lower than that in the control group (P<0.05), IL-10 levels higher than control group (P<0.05). [Conclusion] Clinical efficacy of holistic acupuncture and medicine method combined with conventional Western medicine treatment of BA is better than single conventional Western medicine treatment.关键词
