摘要

Abstract

In-situ TiB2/Al-7Si composites were fabricated by mixed salt reaction under the different process parameters. The microstructure of TiB2/Al-7Si composites was investigated by using XRD, SEM and optical microscope. The results show that the microstructure of the TiB2/Al-7Si composites was composed ofα-Al phase, eutectic Si phase and TiB2 phase. When the melt reaction temperature was too high or too low, serious aggregation occurred in TiB2 particles because of its sedimentation or not easy diffusion. In addition, the melt reaction time was too long or too short, aggregation also took place in TiB2 particles due to particle sedimenta-tion or an inadequate reaction. TiB2/Al-7Si composites with a fine grain and uniform distribution of TiB2 particles were acquired when the melt reaction temperature was 875℃and the melt reaction time was 20 min.
