Abstract

Objective To investigate the chemical constituents from the bulbs of Allium chinense G. Don. Methods The compounds were isolated by chromatographies on silica gel column, ODS column, Sephadex LH-20 column, preparative HPLC and their chemical structures were elucidated on the basis of physicochemical properties and spectroscopic data. Results Seven compounds were isolated and their structures were identified to be N-p-coumaroyltyramine ( 1 ) , N-p-hydroxy-cis-coumaroyltyramine ( 2 ) , acanthoside D ( 3 ) , β-D-fructopyranose ( 4 ) , methyl-β-D-fructofuranoside ( 5 ) , β-sitosterol ( 6 ) , and daucosterine ( 7) . Conclusion Compounds 3-5 were isolated from A. chinense G. Don for the first time.
