Abstract
In order to recycle chrome leather scraps, degraded collagen was extracted from chrome leather scraps by an alkaline method, which is further used in the preparation of the degraded-collagen/melamine compound (CMC). Free formaldehyde contents in CMC were controlled by multiple addition of degraded collagen. SDS-PAGE results show that the molecular weight of CMC is in a range of 15~25 kDa, which is larger than original samples. Free amino groups of CMC also decrease. SEM results show that the average particle size of CMC is significantly larger than that of degraded collagen, white the original particle morphology is kept. The average particle size of CMC dispersed in water is ~ 125 nm with narrow distribution when pH is 7~8. The isoelectric point of CMC is pH 4~5 from potentiometric analysis. The hot melting temperature of CMC is ≥120℃. These results indicate potential applications of the CMC powder prepared.关键词
