Abstract
Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of secondary cytoreductive surgery (CRS) combined with chemotherapy on recurrent ovarian cancer and its influence on the quality of life (QOL) of patients.Methods:80 patients with recurrent ovarian cancer treated in our hospital from September 2010 to September 2011 were selected and divided into a surgery group (CRS plus chemotherapy) and a control group (chemotherapy only),with 40 cases in each group.The clinical efficacy and the quality of life 6 months after treatment were compared between the two groups.Results:The rates of complete remission (CR) and partial remission (PR) were 70.0％ and 12.5％ in surgery group,respectively.The rates of CR and PR in control group were 45.0％ and 17.5 ％,respectively.The response rate of surgery group was significantly higher than that of control group (82.5 ％ vs.62.5％,P＜0.05).6 months after treatment,the physical,emotional,functional well-being,ovarian cancer-specific concerns and total QOL scores were significantly higher in surgery group than those in control group (P＜0.05).The median survival time of patients in surgery group was (34.2±3.2) months,which was higher than that of control group (21.9±4.8) months (P＜0.05).No significant differences in the survival rates were found in the first and second year between the two groups (P＞0.05),but in the third and fifth year,the survival rate of surgery group was markedly higher than that of control group (P＜0.05).Conclusion:Secondary CRS combined with chemotherapy could effectively improve the clinical efficacy of recurrent ovarian cancer,prolong the survival time and enhance QOL of patients.关键词
