Available Energy Analysis of Coal-to-gas Methanation Process Based on Aspen Plus

Abstract
Relationships among the reaction stages,energy efficiency and operating conditions were studied for coal-to-gas methanation using Aspen Plus.The operable area and the level of energy efficiency were determined for one and two and three stage methanation processes producing qualified gas.The results show that the qualified product gas can be obtained for one-stage process of methanation only when the outlet temperature of reactor is below 267 ℃ through large recycle ratio and heat duty,but the available energy that process releases is at a low level.For two-stage process of methanation,the qualified product gas can be obtained in certain conditions that recycle ratio or heat duty are larger,but the available energy that process released is at a middle level.For three-stage process of methanation,the qualified product gas is obtained when recycle ratio is below 0.83.At the same time,the operating conditions can be adjusted in a wider range and the available energy that process releases is at a high level.关键词
