Determination of Titanium in Metallic Silicon by Diantipyrylmethane Spectrophotometry

Abstract
Perchloric acid removal by sulfuric acid and the color reaction conditions of diantipyrylmethane-titanium (Ⅳ) were researched to create the determination method for titanium content determination by diantipyrylmethane spectrophotometry.The test results show, in the 1.6mol/L hydrochloric acid medium, the 1∶3 yellow complex is formed by diantipyrylmethane and titanium (Ⅳ);titanium volume in the range of 5.00~100.00 μg/50 mL conform to Beer′s Law;the detection limit of titanium is 0.0047 μg/mL according to that the blank value is the three times of the standard deviation calculation;ε388=1.48×104 L/mol·cm;the other co-existing ion in the test solution has no interference to the determination.The determination results of titanium in three standard samples by the test method in five different labs is in line with the standard values;the determination results of titanium in two standard samples by the test method is basically the same with the the estimated value of X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, this method is adopted in the determination of 0.0014%~0.30% titanium in the metallic silicon standard samples and the practical samples, the relative standard deviation is among 1.6%~4.6% (RSD, n=22).关键词
