摘要

Abstract

The basket-handle through tied arch bridge of Nielsen system used in pedestrian bridge is a relatively new form. Numerical simulation and field measurement of this kind of bridge was analyzed. The stress analysis of a Nielsen-system pedestrian bridge approved its long span capability, high global stiffness and super stability. Another important factor in pedestrian bridge design is comfort assessment. Based on the free vibration characteristics, a Nielsen-system arch bridge with cross suspenders showed a larger fundamental frequency and thus was of higher comfort degree compared with a Lohse arch bridge with vertical suspenders. By measuring the dynamic characteristics of bridge structure, the Nielsen system arch bridge was verified to meet national standard acceleration limits.
