摘要

Abstract

Fat mass and obesity associated (FTO) gene is a new gene which was identified to be related to obesity in recent years.Genome wide association study (GWAS) indicated that there were lots of single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) sites in FTO gene,and these SNP sites were associated with obesity.This paper reviewed the discovery,structure and distribution of FTO gene,the relationship between FTO gene SNP sites and obesity,and the role of FTO gene SNP sites in the process of developing obesity,with the aim of providing a valuable reference for mechanism of animal obesity.
