摘要

Abstract

Core/shell particles, as a new micro/nano-material, have attracted much attention since these particles exhibit superior properties in different fields like electronics, biology, magnetism, optics, and catalysis. For almost 30-year development, silica becomes one of the most intensively investigated coating materials due to its superior properties, resulting in many preparation methods for silica coating on different particles. This review provided an overview of almost all the strategies to synthesize silica-coated materials and their emerging applications in different fields, and summarized the advantages and disadvantages of different methods. In addition, its prospect of future development was also described.
