Effect of Stoma Powder Combined with Skin Protective Film on Patients with Fecal Incontinence:A Meta-analysis

Abstract
Objective To assess the effect of stoma powder combined skin protective film in patients with fecal incontinence. Methods We collected randomized controlled trails (RCTs) from Cochrane Library, Medline, PubMed, JBI Library, Ovid, Springer, Web of science, CNKI, CBM, Wanfang and VIP. Retrieval time for literatures was from the establishment of the database to May 2016. The quality of RCTs was critically appraised and data were extracted by 2 reviewers independently then Meta-analysis was conducted for eligible RCTs. Results 7 studies were included. Results of meta-analysis showed that stoma powder combined with skin protective film can be more effective in the treatment of incontinence-associated dermatitis ( RR=1.52,95%CI:1.32~1.75,P<0.01), with shorter healing time (MD=-2.21,95%CI:-2.69~-1.72,P<0.01)and lower recurrence rate (RR=0.09,95%CI:0.02~0.31,P<0.01). Conclusion With shorter healing time and lower recurrence rate, stoma powder combined with skin protective film is effective for incontinence-associated dermatitis.关键词
