摘要

Abstract

To solve the problem in satellite self-spin period estimation based on the radar cross section (RCS)sequence in space detection missions,a satellite self-spin period estimation model based on multi-frequency band RCS is built. According to the satellite extrapolation orbit,the trackable arcs of satellite for station tracking are obtained. The electromagnetic numerical algorithms are applied to compute the RCS of satellite rapidly and the formula for calculating the incident angle of electromagnetic wave transmitted by earth-based radar in satellite coordinate system is derived,then the theoretical RCS sequences of trackable arcs can be obtained. The expression of self-spin period in RCS sequence is studied,and the factors of radar frequency band,sampling rate and arc selecting which influence self-spin period estimation are analyzed. The results show that,because of the RCS sequences' obvious periodicity,the arcs whose incidence angle changes relative to the spin axis is perpendicular to the satellite smooth can be used to estimate satellite spin cycle accurately,and the method in this paper can be applied to estimate the satellite self-spin period.
