Abstract

Three dominant salt-tolerant strains (Strain1, Strain2 and Strain3) were isolated by modified Gibbons media from an EGSB reactor treating incineration leachate.The growth conditions of these three strains were investigated and the 16S rDNA information was documented.By using static tests, the effects of temperature and inocula on the COD removal efficiencies by the three strains were studied.Species construction was also conducted to enhancing COD removal.The experimental results showed that, Strainl, Strain2 and Strain3 belonged to genus Bacillus, Clostridium and Enterobacter, respectively.The optimal COD removal conditions of all three isolated strains was from 30 to 35 ℃ with a 10% inoculations.When the bacteria consortium of Strain1 and Strain2with the inoculation ratio of 1 ∶ 2 and influent leachate COD at 20 000 mg · L-1, the COD removal effiency reached as high as 54.3%.This inoculated combination was regarded as the optimal bacteria consortium among the three isolated strains.
