Abstract

To know the thermal environment and air quality of typical diary cow house in spring in Beijing area, and provide an envionmental reference for healthy production of diary cows, the experiment measured the thermal environment and air quality of lactating cow houses at different time and different positions.The results show that during the five time periods measured, the temperature in the house represented a regular variation, which firstly rose and then dropped(P<0.01);relative humidity firstly declined then rose(P<0.01), and thermal index(THI) was extremely different(P<0.01), but both were below the heat stress index (THI≥72);the wind speed in the morning was slower than other time period(P<0.05);the radiant heat was higher during the day than in the morning and evening, but with an insignificant difference;PM concentration was relatively lower in the morning and evening(P<0.05);ammonia concentration was higher during 16:00 to 17:30 and 18:00 to 19:30 than other time period(P<0.01);CO2 concentration was higher during 18:00 to 19:30 than other time(P<0.01).Wind speed outdoors was extremely faster than that of indoors(P<0.01), indoor CO2 concentration was extremely higher than that of outdoors(P<0.01).The ammonia concentration and CO2 concentration were all extremely significant (P<0.01) at three different positions: sunny side, shade side, and feeding channel.The ammonia concentration at shade side was higher than the other positions;CO2 concentration at feeding channel was higher than other two positions.Therefore, it is concluded that the thermal temperature and humidity heat stress of lactating cow house in spring in Beijing are suitable for cow production;the ammonia and CO2 concentrations all meet the standard, which will exert small influence on diary cows.
