降雨减少对华北落叶松人工林土壤呼吸的影响

Effects of Throughfall Exclusion on Soil Respiration in Larix principis-rupprechtii Plantation

Abstract

As an integral part of the ecosystem carbon cycle, soil respiration is related to various components of ecosystem production. The objective was to examine the effects of precipitation pattern change on soil respiration in Larix principis-rupprechtii plantations stands in Shanxi Province, China. Three treatments involving control, 30% throughfall reduction, 60% throughfall reduction were applied to analyze the relationship between throughfall and soil respiration. Soil respiration rate was determined twice each month using the LI-8100 carbon flux measuring system during the growing season from June to October. Simultaneously, soil temperature and moisture at a depth of 5 cm were recorded using a temperature probe and moisture sensor on infrared gas exchange analyzer. The results showed that the soil moisture with 60% throughfall reduction was significantly reduced by 17.8% (P<0.05). The average soil respiration rates in CK, W1 and W2 were 2.45 μmol?m-2?s-1, 2.29 μmol?m-2?s-1 and 2.16 μmol?m-2?s-1, respectively. The soil respiration with 60% throughfall reduction was significantly decreased by 41.01 g?m-2, about 11.84% lower than the control (P<0.05). However, the treatment of 30% throughfall reduction had no significant effect on soil respiration. The relationships between soil respiration and soil temperature at 5 cm depth could be described by an exponential equation (P<0.05), properly throughfall exclusion could improve the correlation of soil respiration and soil temperature. The relationships between soil respiration and soil moisture at 5 cm depth could be described by an binary linear equation at 2~7 ℃ soil temperature (P<0.05), properly throughfall exclusion could improve the correlation of soil respiration and soil moisture at 2~7 ℃ soil temperature, while the correlation was reduced at 13~17 ℃ soil temperature. The temperature sensitivity (Q10) values were increased in the treatments of throughfall exclusion relative to the control, with the highest Q10 value in 60% throughfall reduction treatment. In summary, throughfall exclusion have a significant effect on the soil respiration in Larix principis-rupprechtii plantations.
