Design of A New Composite Viscoelastic Damped Strut
摘要
Abstract
Aimed at the problem of low damping of composite strut,this paper proposes a new design of composite viscoelastic damped strut using the segmented constrained layer to enhance the shear deformation of the damping material for vibration energy dissipation.The advantage of the damped strut is that it can be used in main load transfer path and the axial damping can be sub stantially increased with high axial stiffness.The test article has been designed,fabricated and test.The test results indicate that the axial damping of the damped strut is raised 23.7 times compared with undamped strut with the axial stiffness undecreased.Numerical results correlate well with the test results proving the validity of the proposed FE model for damping prediction.This damped strut design can be used for supporting strut or member of truss in satellite structures to enhance system damping and decrease dynamic response.关键词
