摘要

Abstract

Effect of lower molecular weight chitosan on hydrophilicity of polyester fabric was studied.Lower molecular weight chitosan was prepared by degradation of chitosan with H2O2 to modify polyester fiber and the fabric.of Chitosan and modified polyester fabric were tested and analyzed by using infrared spectrometric analyzer,thermal gravimetric analyzer and scanning electron microscope.The results show that moisture regain of polyester fiber modified by lower molecular weight chitosan can be reached 3.28%.Moisture regain of grafted lower molecular weight chitosan polyester fabric is raised from 0.4% to 1.03%.Wicking height is raised from 2.8 cm/30 min to 6.3 cm/30 min.Contact angle is decreased from 83.7° to 34.2°.It is considered that polyester fabric modified by lower molecular weight chitosan has better hydrophilicity.
