摘要

Abstract

A pilot MFCs plant was designed to treat wastewater from pig farm.The plant effective volume was 305 L, and the hydraulic retention time was about 24 hours. The wastewater treatment effect and electricity generation performance of the pilot plantwere investigated in this study. During the stable running period, the COD of effluent was under 500 mg/L, while the order was reduced significantly. The heavy metal concentrations of effluent reached standards for irrigation water quality. However, the removal effect of ammonia nitrogen and total phosphorus was poor. The output voltage was over 400 mV with 1 Ω external resistance while the maximum power density of MFCs reached 154.9 mW/m2.
