Research on International Trade Situation and Structural features of Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry

Abstract
In this study,we analyzed the current situation of the international trade of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industry based on the data of imports and exports of TCM from 2006 to 2015.We also explored the characteristics of composition of import and export commodities based on the export data of TCM from 1996 to 2015 and import data of TCM from 2006 to 2015.The research showed that the TCM industry had strong competitiveness in international trade.China was a net exporter in TCM international trade.Of all the import and export commodities,Chinese herbal medicine had the strongest competitiveness,followed by Chinese herbal extract,while Chinese patent herbal medicine and health care products had the weakestcompetitiveness in TCM international trade.The composition of import and export commodities changed during this period.Chinese herb extracts instead of Chinese medicinal material was found to be the main export commodities,while the importance of Chinese patent herbal medicine and health care products to the import trade was weakened.Chinese herbal extracts,Chinese patent herbal medicine and health care products became the main import commodities.And Chinese herbal extracts tend to be one of the most important compositions of TCM import and export commodities.关键词
