Belief about Medication in Adult Liver Transplant Recipients:A 278-case Study

Abstract
Objective To understand the status quo of belief about medication in adult liver transplant recipients. Methods Totally 278 adult liver transplant recipients were investigated using general information questionnaire and Beliefs about Medical Questionnaire (BMQ). Results The score of harm of the medication was 11.20±2.85 and that of overuse of medication, the necessity of taking medication and concern of taking medication 10.41±2.95, 20.12±3.10 and 15.08±4.21 respectively. The D-value between necessity and concern was 5.04. Conclusion The level of the necessity of taking medication is high in adult liver transplant recipients but part of the patients hold the belief that the medication is harmful and have concerns on taking medication for a long period. Medical staff should be based on the characteristics of liver transplant recipients to take targeted interventions to improve their medication beliefs.关键词
