Abstract

Wireless power transmission (WPT) and electrical vehicle (EV) technology have been rapidly developed in recently decades. However, EVs are not widely accepted by consumers because of the battery bottleneck and recharging difficulties. Thus, the dynamic wireless charging solution is reconsidered. Aiming at the problem that the transmission power is easy to fluctuate with the coupling coils over large misalignment, a primary T-type compensation network from the perspective of smoothing the transmission power is proposed in this paper. Under the premise of ensuring high transmission efficiency and soft switching, the proposed T-type compensation network maintains a stable output characteristic over a wide misalignment. It also has an inherent current limiting ability under no-load operation. A 500W WPT prototype is built. The output power maintains almost constant within 40 percentage of horizontal misalignment, showing the effectiveness of the design method.
