Research on TCM Syndromes of Influenza in South of the Five Ridges

Abstract
Objective:To explore the TCM syndromes of influenza in south of the Five Ridges and provide evidences for the diagnosis and treatment of influenza in Chinese medicine.Methods:The TCM syndromes and epidemiological data of totally 1143 patients with influenza in Guangdong Provincial Hospital were collected to analyze the distribution of TCM syndromes and the relation between TCM syndromes and complicated syndromes.Results:Among the 1143 patients,559 patients were male (accounting for 51.1％),584 patients were female (accounfing for 48.9％),789 patients were with influenza A (accounting for 69.0％),354 patients were with influenza B (accounting for 31.0 ％).For TCM syndromes,wind heat attacking defensive phase was the main syndrome.Specifically,947 cases were with syndrome of wind heat attacking defensive phase (accounting for 82.9％),83 cases were with syndrome of wind cold tightening superficies (accounting for 7.3％),113 cases were with syndrome of heat toxicity attacking the lung (accounting for 9.9).The syndrome of wind heat attacking defensive phase was the main syndrome of influenza A and influenza B,then was the syndrome of heat toxicity attacking the lung and the syndrome of wind cold tightening superficies.There were 211 cases with intermingling cold svndrome (18.46％),among which syndrome of wind heat attacking defensive phase was 156 cases (accounting for 73.9％),syndrome of wind coll tightening superficies was 52 cases (accounting for 14.7％) and syndrome of heat toxicity attacking the lung was 89 cases (accounting for 11.4％).There was statistical significance between different groups (P ＜ 0.05).Conclusion:The syndrome of wind heat attacking defensive phase was the main syndrome of influenza in south of the Five Ridges and some complicated with damp pathogen,which conforms to the damp feature of this area.关键词
