摘要

Abstract

In order to better understand current situation of travel mode choice of college students,this study develop a model to formulate traffic management policies and measures by considering the difference of travel mode between the college students and the urban residents. The model of college students' travel mode choice is developed in terms of the prospect theory. The theoretical calculation result and the actual survey result are compared using the data of the daily travel times. The comparative study shows that the travel time has a larger impact on the travel mode choice in comparison to the travel cost. When the travel time is shorter, the students are more inclined to taxi as the main way to travel. This finding conforms to the trip psychology of college students and the results of the questionnaire survey.
