Abstract
At present,there are two main methods like software and hardware to balance the DC side voltage of the cascade static synchronous compensator(STATCOM). The hardware method will increase the complexity of the design and the cost of the device. Therefore,a direct fuzzy based modulation wave control was proposed for the cascade STATCOM to balance the DC side voltage. By analyzing the basic principle of the cascade STATCOM,the overall control strategy of the DC capacitor voltage was firstly given. Then,a direct control strategy of the modulation wave was designed based on fuzzy method utilizing the relationship of the modulated wave and capacitor voltage discharge of the sub-module. The feasibility and superiority of the proposed control strategy are verified by the simulation and experiment.关键词
