Repetitive Pulsed Generator for High-energy Plasma Synthetic Jet

Abstract
Plasma synthetic jet (PSJ) is an important tool for high-speed flow control,and a high repetition rate,high energy PSJ can produce a better control effect.Consequently,we develop a high-frequency and high-energy pulsed generator for PSJ actuator.The maximum voltage pulse is 10 kV with a pulse repetition rate of 1 000 Hz and a pulse width of 15 μs,and the generator can withstand a discharge current with an amplitude of 320 A,and the discharge energy is 150 mJ.Firstly,the topology of the pulsed generator is designed,and the principle of pulsed generator is also demonstrated.Secondly,the effect of different capacitors on the output voltage is investigated.Moreover,the discharge characteristics and energy features are analyzed in a high-repetition rate mode.Finally,the development of the jet flow field is observed using a schlieren system.Experimental results show that the output voltage behaves stable at high frequency.All the discharge duration,current,and energy increase with the increase of the discharge capacitor.In addition,observation of the schlieren system shows the jet velocity reaches 150 m/s,which indicates this pulsed generator can be used in the field of flow control.关键词
