摘要

Abstract

In this study, based on the damaged mechanics principle, the fatigue damage evolution law of a double layer asphalt mixture paving system on steel bridge deck was analyzed from the perspective of mechanical approximation. Also some prediction formulas of damaged field, stress-strain relationship and fatigue life of the paving system were proposed. Fatigue tests of compound beams were prepared at a paving layer construction site of Nanjing's fourth Yangtze river's bridge and used to validate the reliability of established models. Results indicated that predicting values from established models were closed to those from experimental measurements with a deviation rang of 8%. This suggests that the proposed prediction formulas were reliable. This study concludes that the established models can be used to accurately predict the fatigue life of a double layer asphalt mixture paving system on steel bridges'decks.
