Abstract

In order to further evaluate the relationship between environmental factors and distribution of lichens on dead wood, the paper focused on biodiversity and species distribution pattern of dead wood lichens from 18 sites along an altitudinal gradient from 1950 m to 2750 m on the north slope of Tomur Peak National Nature Reserve. The results showed that there was a clear relationship between lichen species richness with diameter class, altitudinal gradient and wood decay stage. The relationship between tree diameter class and number of lichen species gave a value of R2=0. 6247. The greatest number of lichen species was in the tree diameter class at 50-75 cm. Elevation affected both the number and diversity of the colonizing lichens. The relationship between the altitude and number of lichen species was designated as R2=0.7768. The greatest lichen species richness on dead wood was found at 1950-2150 m. Finally, the lichen community composition varied with wood at different decay stages.
