Abstract

In this paper, the influence of different indoor air distributions, named mixing ventilation system (MV) and displacement ventilation system (DV), on the thermal and power generation performance of photovoltaic (PV) window are experimentally studied, in terms of space air-conditioning temperature and supply air velocity. The results indicate that as the space air-conditioning temperature decreased in both typical indoor air distributions, the power generation of the PV window is gradually increased, but the heat gain of PV window is also increased. Increasing the air supply velocity is beneficial to increase the power generation of PV windows, however, the effect is not as strong as that caused by space air-conditioning temperature. Compared with the MV system, the DV system is much better in the cooling of PV window. As a result of that, in the DV system the power generation of PV window is 10.5%higher and the heat gain of PV window is 37.4%less than that of in the MV system.
