Aerodynamic performance of double blade airfoil for wind turbine

Abstract
In order to improve the power generation efficiency of the wind turbine,and optimize the airfoil of wind turbine blade,a double blade airfoil model is designed based on the S809 airfoil developed by NREL in this paper. The geometric model of double blade airfoil is established by using AutoCAD software. Then,the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method is used to calculate the aerodynamic characteristics of the double blade airfoil at 26 angles of attack,such as 0 to 25.21 degrees. The streamline,pressure distribution and pressure distribution of the flow field are analyzed and compared with that of the S809 benchmark airfoil. The results show that the double blade airfoil increases the lift of the blade without increasing the span. Compared with the S809 reference airfoil,the double blade airfoil increases the stall angle of attack by 6 degrees. The maximum lift coefficient increases to 1.363. The research results lay the foundation for the study of double blade airfoil.关键词
