Cooperating Control for Wind Farm and Hydro Power Plant Based on the Fruit Fly Optimization

Abstract
Wind power is a stochastic and climate-sensitive energy source which makes the wind power curtailment occur frequently.The coordinated hydropower and wind power generation is a strategy to use the adjustment ability of hydroelectric power to compensate changes in wind power so that wind and hydroelectric power are bundled operation in the grid to provide the sum of the active power and output in accordance with the plan.It could operate off-site between wind farm and hydroelectric plant with considering network constraints and control information transmission.To improve the effectiveness of cooperative operation,the PID controller parameters of the hydroelectric turbine were optimized by using the Fruit Fly Optimization Algorithm which made the hydropower rapidly and stably tracking the changes of wind power,maintaining the total output basically in the predetermined range and,reducing the impact on the grid.This is conducive to a long-term stable operation of power systems.The simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.关键词
