Analysis and Suppression of Zero Crossing Distortion Currents in Photovoltaic Grid Connected Inverters With Non-complementary Hybrid Pulse Width Modulation

Abstract
For photovoltaic (PV) grid-connected inverters,non-complementary hybrid pulse width modulation (NC-HPWM) has the advantages of less switches frequency and strong anti-interference ability.However,the switches are operating under the fundamental frequency based on the polarity of the grid voltage,which causes serious zero crossing distortion in the grid current.This paper compared the current commutation process of NC-HPWM and the traditional complementary hybrid PWM in both open loop and closed loop control and pointed out that discontinuous current mode and the status of "out of control" are the main reasons for NC-HPWM current zero crossimg distortion.On the basis of the analysis,equation of the "out of control" angle was derived.Two suppression methods,bridge side inductance optimization and control gate signal shielding,were proposed to reduce/eliminate the zero crossing distortion.Simulation and experimental results show that the proposed methods can effectively suppress the zero crossing distortion and the total harmonic distortion (THD) of the grid current can be reduced by 25%o~35%.关键词
