Metallogenic model of Huayuan Pb-Zn ore field in the western Hunan Province, South China
摘要
Abstract
Huayuan Pb-Zn ore field is located in the transition zone between the southeastern margin of the YangtzeBlock and the Xuefeng(Jiangnan) orogenic belt of South China. Ore bodies are mainly layered and secondly vein-like inshape, and hosted within both the algal limestone of the third submemeber and the sand limestone of the fourthsubmemeber of the Lower Cambrian Qingxudong Formation. Considering that faults and lithofacies are the mostimportant ore-controlling factors for formation of the Pb-Zn orebodies, the characteristics of ore geology, isotopegeochemistry, faults, lithofacies and ore source bed were analyzed. The metallogenic model of Huayuan Pb-Zn ore fieldwas built. The results show that the sulfur is derived from the in-situ thermochemical reduction of sulfates from the older basement to the Cambrian sediments; the ore metals are likely derived from the older basement to the ShipaiFormation, and the ore-forming fluids are mixture of metamorphic, formation and meteoric waters. TheHuayuan—Zhangjiajie fault belt largely controls the distribution of sedimentary facies and mineralization, and thesecondary faults with NE dip direction act as channels for migration of the ore-forming fluids. Moreover, thedistribution of deposits and orebodies are controlled by shallow and biological reef facies near platform margins.Huayuan Pb-Zn ore field is MVT-type Pb-Zn deposit, which is formed in a foreland basin due to the Caledonian orogeny.关键词
