Abstract
Maleated thermoplastic starch(MTPS) was prepared via melt processing,and the structure of MTPS was characterized.With epoxy chain extender (REC) as a compatibilizer,blends of Poly(lactic acid) (PLA)/MTPS/REC were prepared by melt blending.The effect of the chain extender on the properties of the blends were investigated.The results showed that the epoxy groups in REC could react with the carboxyl groups or hydroxyl groups in PLA and MTPS,and the reaction improved the compatibility of starch phase and PLA phase,promoted the dispersion of starch granules in PLA matrix and decreased the particle size of starch granules to 0.5μm or less.Meanwhile,REC had a chain extension effect on PLA,and the mechanical properties of the blends improved significantly,especially with the elongation at break reaching 280%.In addition,the crystallization ability of PLA decreased and the medium resistance of PLA improved.关键词
